Holly Funton

To be honest, I never heared of Holly Funton before, but Hell Yeah, I’m really impressed!

Let me be clear, her designs are amazing but that’s not why I was so impressed. I just loved the red line through her collection! You could really feel and see her love for architecture and big cities. She clearly used architectural lines in all of the designs and for a lot of tops and dresses she used some Art Deco inspired graphical design prints.

She also used some fur coats and bags and this in combination with some Coco Chanel inspired black-and-yellow tweed jackets and skirts. The result...

London

I’m just back from London and I had such a good time although the trip started very badly.

When my boyfriend and I arrived at our hotel we were told that the hot water broke down. We had to go to another hotel. Aaghrrr! I was so frustrated at that time! I just wanted to relax and all this trouble was not what I was looking for. I think the nice lady saw all my frustration and she told us we didn’t had to worry about anything, the other hotel was better located, more modern and the rooms were bigger. So an hour later we were finally at the other hotel, and yes indeed, the room was bigger and better, and the hotel was better located (at Hyde Park). Finally some time for relaxing! After taking a shower and changing clothes I was ready to explore London.

My boyfriend and I first went to Harrods and ate some delicious sushi over there, it was really tasteful!

Mmm, Sushi

Antwerp Fashion Academy

A time ago I had to do a fitting for a friend and student of the Royal Fashion Academy of Antwerp. I really love being there!  The designs of the students are so original, in fact the designs are more art than fashion. The clothes are so unbelievably futuristic and all the students have there own personal innovative work and style.

The students of the second year are making a skirt, but as you see on the pictures the design is more than just a simple skirt! It’s a result of a whole process. The student starts with a simple skirt and keeps adding thoughts and ideas. After three months the construction needs to be finished and then they have to show the result for the jury.

It felt so great when I was finally wearing the skirt because it’s really difficult to put this thing on without breaking anything!

Some drawings the students made.

Chanel Chique

Which girl can honestly tell that she isn’t dying for her own little Chanel item?

We all start with the perfume: Chanel °5 followed by the typical, and o so perfect, Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick. And if we’re lucky enough we can call ourselves the proud owner of our little own Chanel 2.55.

And because we girls all love to drawl on some perfect and unreachable Chanel outfits I posted some nice pictures I made a time ago in the Fashion Museum of Antwerp.

Feel free to be frustrated that they're not in your closet because I do, :)

New York Fashion

NEW YORK, February 16, 2011

Yigal Azrouël

What I like about Yigal Azrouël’s designs is that they are special, a little different then all the rest, but still really wearable. I love the loose fitting pants and the architectural shape of the trousers (on the second picture) and I especially love the black & white in contrast with the bride and flashy colours.

I’m still looking for a look-alike orange pants!

My Pearly Black dress

Dres: New Look – Shoes: H&M – Jacket: Guess – Poncho: Venice du nord – Clutch: grandmother's

Today I can finally wear my “black pearly 20s look-alike dress” ! Do You remember the pearly see-trough top of the previous post, well, it died. I went partying with it and some stupid boy ran in to me and the next thing I know was that almost all the pearls went down. Because of that incident I didn’t dear to wear my pearly dress, imagine the same would happen!? So I decided to wear this dress only in ‘save zones’ for example at school, at home, at my boyfriends, when I go shopping,… But not when I go to parties where drunk ‘pearly top killers’ are also going to try to kill my dress J

No comment for this one, I just think it’s a flopped but nice picture.

Pearls and bracelets

I was cleaning up my room today and I found a big box of old bracelets that my grandmother once gave me. The bracelets look a little old, but they are so pretty! I think it are almost 50 bracelets and I can’t pick just one out so I’m wearing them all J I have 50 different bracelets around my arms right now, it’s a little heavy but I just want to wear them all!

This week I bought a lovely black hat in one of my favourite second hand stores in Antwerp, T2: Think Twice. They have amazing sales and I bought the hat for just €3! But that’s not the only thing I bought during my sporadic shopping trip in Antwerp. I also discovered a black see-through top in New Look with a lot of pearls. Yesterday I told you that I bought 2 lovely pearly dresses, they are also from new look. I really love pearls and I'm so happy that I finally have a pearly top.

Colour up my day

It’s such a rainy day today so I want to ‘colour up’ my day by wearing a colourful pink/nude outfit.

I picked out one of my favourite dresses. I really love this one because it’s a dress with a lot of fabric, it feels very protective and it’s a very heavy one. When I wear it, it feels like I’m 5 kilo’s heavier. Speaking of heavy dresses, today I bought 2 dresses with a lot of pearls. I will put some pictures of the dresses online tomorrow. They look a little old, like a ’20 short gala dress. I really loved the ’20 theme so I bought the dress immediately in two different colours, in black and in beige. You will see them tomorrow!

I miss my long hair

I Love my H&M hairband!

Sacha shoes, New Look pants, Zara dress

Today I found some old pictures on my computer and I realised I really miss my long hair. My hair is 30 centimetres shorter right now and I hope it’s going grow very fast. I can’t wait to have my long hair back!
